Visits to various coffee growing communities across the country
Papua New Guinea's Coffee
From smallholder grown y grade, to home of some of the world's best specialty coffees. For PNG, coffee is the second largest agricultural export product (after Palm Oil). It is a source of income for 2 million Papua New Guineans, from subsistence smallholder coffee growers in remote area's of the Highlands, to employees at the exports or logistics level. I'm lucky enough to be able to visit the coffee growing areas regularly. The landscape, the people and the coffee gardens all make for excellent photo opportunities.
Two photo sets below. The top one is a recent trip that took us from Western Highlands, through Jiwaka and Chimbu Province and the Okapa and Lufa districts of the Eastern highlands. Thanks Ann Traumann for crossing the globe from Lausanne to PNG to visit us.
